Privacy — the short version.
1 Week Sites is a solo UK studio run by Gareth Wray. This is the full list of personal data handled when you contact me, commission a build, or use this website.
What I collect
If you email me, I keep the email thread. If you commission a site, I keep your brief, payment record, and any credentials you share during the build — for the duration of the project. After launch, credentials are handed back and my copies are deleted within 30 days. Payment records are retained for six years as required by UK tax law.
What this website collects
Nothing until you say yes. On your first visit a small banner asks whether you’re happy for me to use Google Analytics 4 to count anonymised visits. If you click Reject, no analytics scripts load and no cookies are set.
If you click Accept, Google Analytics loads and sets a handful of cookies (_ga, _ga_*) used to distinguish anonymous visitors and track aggregate page views. I see counts and queries — never names, emails, or anything that identifies you personally. Your choice is remembered for twelve months in your browser’s local storage. You can change it any time using the Cookies link at the bottom of any page.
No advertising pixels. No retargeting. No third-party trackers beyond the Google Analytics one above. The site is hosted on Vercel, which may log IP addresses in server logs for security and uptime purposes — see Vercel’s privacy policy for their retention terms.
Your rights
Under UK GDPR you can request a copy of everything I hold on you, ask me to correct it, or ask me to delete it. Email hello@1weeksites.com and I will respond within 30 days.
Who I share data with
Nobody, other than essential service providers — Stripe for payments, Vercel for hosting, the registrar you choose for your domain. No data brokers, no advertisers, no audience-matching, ever.
