Privacy, the short version.
1 Week Sites is a one-person UK studio run by Gareth Wray. This is the full list of personal data handled when you contact me, commission a build, or use this website.
What I collect
If you email me, I keep the email thread. If you commission a site, I keep your brief, payment record, and any credentials you share during the build, for the duration of the project. After launch, credentials are handed back and my copies are deleted within 30 days. Payment records are retained for six years as required by UK tax law.
What this website collects
Nothing until you say yes. On your first visit a small banner asks whether you are happy for me to use Google Analytics 4 to count anonymised visits. If you click Reject, no analytics scripts load and no cookies are set.
If you click Accept, Google Analytics loads and sets a handful of cookies (_ga, _ga_*) used to distinguish anonymous visitors and track aggregate page views. I see counts and queries, never names, emails, or anything that identifies you personally. Your choice is remembered for twelve months in your browser's local storage. You can change it any time using the Cookies link at the bottom of any page.
One advertising tool, on two pages only. The free website giveaway is advertised on Facebook and Instagram, so its entry page and its thank-you page load the Meta Pixel if, and only if, you click Accept. It tells Meta that someone arrived from an advert and, on the thank-you page, that an entry was made. That is how I see which advert worked, and Meta uses it to decide who sees my adverts. It sets the cookies _fbp and, if you arrived from an advert, _fbc. I do not send Meta your name, your email address or anything you type into the form. Click Reject and the pixel never loads.
The rest of the site has no advertising pixels and no other third-party trackers beyond the Google Analytics one above. The site is hosted on Vercel, which may log IP addresses in server logs for security and uptime purposes. See Vercel's privacy policy for their retention terms. Booking a call opens a Cal.com scheduling page, which is governed by Cal.com's privacy policy.
Where the site asks for your details
One place: the entry form for the free website giveaway. It asks for your first name, email address, business name, current website and a line about what the business does. I use them to run the draw and to send three emails: that your entry is in, the link to the live draw, and the result. If you tick the optional second box, I also email you the entrant's offer, and that email tells you how to stop any more. Entries are kept in HubSpot, where I keep my customer records, and the emails are sent through Resend. Your details are not sold, and I delete them when you ask.
Nothing else on this site asks for your email address. The website audit runs without one and its report downloads as a PDF in your own browser. If you email me or book a call, I use your details only to reply and to run the call, and you can ask me to delete them at any time.
Your rights
Under UK GDPR you can request a copy of everything I hold on you, ask me to correct it, or ask me to delete it. Email hello@1weeksites.com and I will respond within 30 days.
Who I share data with
Nobody, other than the services that make the site work: Stripe for payments, Vercel for hosting, Cal.com for scheduling, HubSpot for giveaway entries and customer records, Resend for sending the giveaway emails, and the registrar you choose for your domain. Meta receives what its pixel collects on the two giveaway pages, and only if you accepted cookies there. No data brokers, and I never upload names or email addresses to an advertiser.
