How much does it cost to set up Claude or ChatGPT for a business?
£500, one flat fee, paid before we start: your source of truth written with you, the tool set up to read it, skills for the jobs you repeat, the automations that fit, and a handover call where you use it yourself.
The plan is paid to the provider, in your account: typically £15 to £20 a month per seat. No monthly fee from me. The breakdown is on AI marketing pricing.
Claude or ChatGPT: which is better for a small business?
The one you will open every day. Both write well once they know the business, and both keep a workspace with its own instructions and files: a Project in Claude, a Project or custom GPT in ChatGPT.
If you already pay for one, I set that one up. If you do not, I recommend on the call, based on how you work and what your email, CRM and calendar connect to. The source of truth is written to be portable, so a change of tool later does not mean starting again.
What is Claude for Small Business, and do I need it?
Anthropic launched Claude for Small Business in May 2026: Claude connected to tools many small businesses already use, such as QuickBooks and HubSpot, with ready-made skills for common jobs.
It is a good start, and it is generic: it knows the tools, not your business. Where it fits, I set it up alongside your source of truth, so the replies, posts and emails sound like you. I am independent of Anthropic and take no commission.
Why does it still sound generic after I sign up?
Because a new account knows nothing about you. Every answer starts from the internet's average. The fix is the source of truth: one document with what you do, who it is for, your prices, your proof, how you talk and what you will not say.
I write it with you in one sitting of questions and load it into the workspace, with examples of your best work and the guardrails. From then on every conversation starts already knowing the business.
Will my data be used to train the AI?
Not on a business plan: the providers do not train on business-plan data. That is why the set-up always runs on one, in an account in your name, on your card.
Nothing personal goes into the tool without a written note of what and why, and anything customer-facing gets a human review step until you decide otherwise.
What happens after the set-up?
A handover call where you make something with it yourself, a post, an email or a reply to an enquiry, in your voice, before we hang up. Then a one-page way of working for whoever uses it day to day.
